Yes! retrofire has been specially designed for retro-fit installation into factory*built fireplaces that are often difficult or impossible to fit with conventioanl gas inserts.
It also has application in masonry fireplaces, particularly those with arched or uneven facings.

Yes! retrofire mounts back inside your current fireplace without needing the trim plates found on typical fireplace inserts. Retrofire is uniquely styled to appear as an open log fire, however, it has a full glass-fronted firebox and heat exchanger. A choice of three handsomely styled cast iron fenders complete the look. With the smart design of retrofire, you will enjoy all the benefits of a highly energy efficient gas insert, while maintanig the open look of your fireplace.

In addition, a gravity convection heat exchanger naturally re-circulates your room air through the open fireplace cavity without the need of electricity for a blower.
